Imagine you are the President of Mexico and you must give a brief introduction for the festivities surrounding the "Cortes Quincentennial" where, in 2021, Mexico will celebrate the 500th anniversary of Cortes's expedition to the New World. This should be a 5- 7 sentence fully formed paragraph. Be sure to address why Mexico is honoring this historic day.
On this memorable day, we remember our brave and valiant conquers who displayed great courage, but also made brutal mistakes. Cortes fought passionately for his beliefs, and we should all be so dedicated to our goals. However Cortes was also cruel and ruthless towards the Aztecs and the civilization they built because they were so different from his culture. Let us learn from history but not make the same mistakes of Cortes, and yet be inspired by his perseverance. We are honoring this day to address that we are a great country that has made mistakes in the past. Also,we can obey our values and be a beautiful, large, and moral country all at the same time.

Today we are honoring a man that changed the economic and cultural out look of our country. Cortes was a man with strong and fearless passions whether it was right or wrong. He fought hard to bring his values to the new world. Yes, he was a ruthless man and was pitiless on the Aztecs; however, without him our country would not be as it is today. Cortes’ brutality taught us that all cultures are important and when they are brought together they can make an amazing place.
490 years ago today, a strong, destined, ruthless man took an army to a place that was not yet discovered. We want to celebrate him, but also be sad, for the aztec tribe is no longer alive because of him. He did something amazing for us but he also destroyed the most advanced civilization at that time. Even though I am so thankful for what Cortés did, I also wonder what would have become of the Aztecs. We take this day to be thankful for the ones that fought, and honor the ones that died.
ReplyDelete500 years ago, Cortés brought a group of fearless men on a long journey to a land that was unchartered and unexplored land. The Indians who inhabited the land greeted this ruthless leader, Cortés, very gracefully and with a lot of care, but he wiped them out and claimed the land for the Europeans. He did not save their culture or any memories of the Native Americans; he burned everything they had left behind during the enormous battles, as to have a new beginning in this strange land. Cortés eventually brought more brave soldiers with him to America and helped him explore and conquer the land. To this day we celebrate the men who fought to change the way we live and how they were victiorious.
ReplyDeleteWelcome everyone and thank you all for coming to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Corté's expedition in the New World! His expedition led us to our proud country of Mexico that I am so honored to be leading. Some people say that Cortés was a great explorer, but, he was ruthless and cruel to the Aztecs while discovering our country. However, today is not about the past; it is about standing here proud of our nation. Take a look at our flag. The white, red, and green colors flashing with pride in the air. Please join me for the national anthem before we start the celebrating and festivities!
ReplyDeleteWelcome citizens of Mexico and tourists to the Cortes Quincentennial! My name is Emil Qiu,the president of this great country. We are here in 2021, on this great day, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Cortes's expedition to the New World. Without Corte's expedition we not have built this country to the state it is in today. The ancient indigenous population would not have thrived to our extent. All of us would not be here today on this Mexican soil if not for this brave explorers. Today we will truly honor him!
ReplyDeleteOn this day we are celebrating the 500th anniversary of Cortés' expedition to the New World. We praise this man who was the ultimate conquistador. We honor his strength and military power. However, today we also morn the loss of the Aztecs advanced civilization. Because of Cortés' greed he needed to destroy the Aztecs' civilization way before their time. We can only wonder if their existence would have changed the world.
ReplyDelete500 years ago, a great adventurer named Cortés set out on an adventure to a new world. This world was corrupt and distasteful, but he took control and brought everyone down, bringing back many riches to Spain. It is because of this man that we are here today. He battled the Aztecs, he took their riches, and he stopped their arrogant ways. He made our world today possible. He gave us the ability to grow our beautiful country Mexico, and it is that beauty, that we thrive apon. Today we celebrate this joyful new beginning, that was brought to us all those years ago. Thank you, and have a wonderful day.
